The Office for Religious Life, the Stanford School of Medicine, Stanford
Continuing Studies and the Asian Religions & Cultures Initiative - Stanford
Center for Buddhist Studies, are honored to host His Holiness the Dalai
Lama's visit to Stanford University on November 4 and 5, 2005. This two-day
visit will include open public and by-invitation-only events including a
talk on meditation, a conversation on nonviolent conflict resolution, and an
academic conference.

Events to be Broadcast Live:

On Friday morning, November 4, the Dalai Lama will lead a meditation
session, teach about meditation, and answer questions at Maples Pavilion in
a program entitled: "Meditation and Teaching by the Dalai Lama."

On Friday afternoon, November 4, His Holiness will be hosted by the Aurora
Forum at the Heyns Lecture for "The Heart of Nonviolence: A Conversation
with the Dalai Lama." This event will be held in Memorial Church.

On Saturday, November 5, the School of Medicine will host a dialogue between
the Dalai Lama, neuroscientists from Stanford, and Buddhist scholars in a
day-long program, "Craving, Suffering and Choice: Spiritual and Scientific
Explorations of Human Experience," at Memorial Auditorium.
